The Bush Hill Bowls shop is at 180 Lincoln Road, in front of Scoffields MOT garage and across the street from the Medicus Health Centre. Owners Denise and Jerry are qualified bowls coaches and look forward to serving you with bowls equipment and clothes in person and on the web. We’ve a fitting room and you can borrow bowls to try out before buying. Web customers will get the same attention to detail as our VIPs (Visitors in Person!).
Enfield was the first place in the world ever to have an ATM, installed at Barclays in the High Street on 27th June 1967. Its first user was Reg Varney the On the Buses actor and Enfield resident. The machine is now gold-plated to commemorate its 50th anniversary so is almost a tourist attraction. Another is the gold-painted pillar box outside the station, recognising Charlotte Dujardin’s 2012 London Olympic Gold medal. Enfield is off the A10 Cambridge Road out of London, a main artery spurring off the North Circular Road between Bounds Green and Tottenham. As a result it is the most accessible bowls shop in Essex, Hertfordshire and Middlesex.

In the game of bowls, a small heavy melamine ball (bowl) is bowled down a perfectly flat green lawn. With the right weight and direction it will come to rest next to a smaller white ball (jack). Rather than following a straight line, the bowl takes a long slow gentle curve to reach its destination.
One of the sides of the bowl is slighter heavier than the other. This gives the bowl a ‘bias’ so that as the bowl slows down there is a pull towards that side. The bowl literally curves around until it comes to a stop.
