More Than Just a Bowls Shop
Thanks for visiting! We stock indoor and outdoor lawn bowls and everything else you need to play the game – clothing, shoes, chalk sprays and accessories – choose from the menus on the left-hand side of the screen.
Owners Denise and Jerry are qualified bowls coaches and look forward to serving you with bowls equipment and clothes in person and on the web. Web customers will get the same attention to detail as our VIPs (Visitors in Person!).
Whether you’re taking your very first steps onto the green, returning to bowls after a break, or competing at a high level, our mission is simple: to help every bowler find equipment that genuinely suits their game. When we say every bowler, we mean it, for our range of enabling equipment for those with an impairment is second to none.
Based in near Enfield in North London, Bush Hill Bowls has become one of the UK’s most trusted specialist lawn bowls retailers. We combine extensive product knowledge, personal service, and a genuine passion for the sport to ensure that every customer receives expert advice rather than a one-size-fits-all sales pitch.
Independent Advice You Can Trust
Every bowler is different.
Hand size (which includes palm width and finger length), delivery style, green conditions, playing ambitions, preferred bias, and previous experience all influence which bowl will perform best for you.
That’s why we take the time to understand your needs before making recommendations.
Rather than simply selling what’s popular, we help customers compare:
- Different bowl brands
- Bias shapes and draw lines
- Sizes and weights
- Indoor versus outdoor suitability
- Dual-purpose options
- Budget and premium ranges
- Pre-loved bowls options
Our goal is to help you make an informed decision and feel confident in your purchase.
Specialists in Lawn Bowls
Unlike general sports retailers, lawn bowls is our speciality.
We stock leading brands and carefully selected accessories for bowlers at every level, including:
- Lawn bowls
- Bowls shoes
- Clothing and waterproofs
- Bags and carriers
- Measuring equipment
- Bowls accessories and gifts
We continuously monitor developments in the sport so that customers can benefit from the latest products and innovations.
Helping New Bowlers Get Started
One of the biggest challenges for newcomers is understanding the huge variety of bowls available.
Questions we hear every day include:
- What size bowl should I use?
- What’s the difference between these models?
- Which bowl is easiest to learn with?
- Can I use the same bowl indoors and outdoors?
We love helping people answer those questions.
Many customers come to us feeling overwhelmed by the choices available. They leave with a clear understanding of what will work best for them and why.
Supporting Bowlers Across the UK .. and the world!
While many customers visit us in person, we also serve bowlers throughout the UK. Our reputation has brought us customers from Australia, Canada, Czechoslovakia, Singapore, South Africa… in fact everywhere bowls is played. Our Bowls Royce wheelchairs have even won medals at the Commonwealth Games – well, bowlers using them have :-)
Our website provides detailed information, practical buying guidance and access to a wide range of bowls equipment, helping players wherever they are based.
If you need advice, we’re always happy to help.

About Enfield: Enfield was the first place in the world ever to have an ATM, installed at Barclays in the High Street on 27th June 1967. Its first user was Reg Varney the On the Buses actor and Enfield resident. The machine is now gold-plated to commemorate its 50th anniversary so is almost a tourist attraction. Another is the gold-painted pillar box outside the station, recognising Charlotte Dujardin’s 2012 London Olympic Gold medal. Enfield is off the A10 Cambridge Road out of London, a main artery spurring off the North Circular Road between Bounds Green and Tottenham. As a result it is the most accessible bowls shop in Essex, Hertfordshire and Middlesex.
We look forward to serving you, and will always respond to your emails and phone calls to make sure you get “just what the bowler ordered!”
“The right advice. The right bowl. The confidence to play your best, in fact Just what the Bowler Ordered!”
