Enfield was the first place in the world ever to have an ATM, installed at Barclays in the High Street on 27th June 1967. Its first user was Reg Varney, the On the Buses actor and Enfield resident. The machine is now gold-plated to commemorate its 50th anniversary so is almost a tourist attraction. Another is the gold-painted pillar box outside the station, recognising Charlotte Dujardin’s 2012 London Olympic Gold medal. Enfield is off the A10 Cambridge Road out of London, a main artery spurring off the North Circular Road between Bounds Green and Tottenham. As a result it is the most accessible bowls shop in Essex, Hertfordshire and Middlesex.
We look forward to serving you, and will always respond to your emails and phone calls to make sure you get “just what the bowler ordered!”
